Team Copenhagen is a long term GoByBikeBC.ca team, devoted to bringing safe and proven Copenhagen cycling infrastructure to British Columbia Towns and Municipalities.
Please join GoByBikeBC Team Copenhagen on September 22nd, 2024 at Maffeo-Sutton Park from 3PM to 5PM.
We will be collecting donated bikes for the Nowik Bikes for Kids program. Please ensure that donated bikes are in good condition and only require minor repairs such as patching tubes, or replacing seats, or brake or shifter cables. Bikes that require significant repairs are too expensive for the volunteers to repair. https://bikesforkidsvi.ca/ Evo Bike Share, Strong Towns Nanaimo, BC Transit, Team Copenhagen, Community Policing (529 Garage Bicycle Registration) will have booths at the Kick-Off Event. Evo Bike Share will have e-bikes available to try out. If you have not already rented an Evo e-bike this is a perfect opportunity to test ride, and get a feel for how the bikes handle. https://www.evo.ca/evolve BC Transit will be demonstrating a bike bus rack, so that you can get used to loading your bike on a bus in a stress free environment. This way you will be a pro when you load your bike on a bus for your first combined bike/bus trip. City of Nanaimo Volunteer Community Policing will be have a 529 Garage booth to register your bike to deter theft and aid in recovering stolen bikes. https://project529.com/garage Strong Towns Nanaimo will have excellent information on how to make our City safer, and more sustainable. Following Strong Towns principles enables cities to afford to maintain essential infrastructure. https://www.beautifulnanaimo.ca/
